New Delhi: The family of Dr. Umar Un Nabi, one of the suspects in the Red Fort car blast case, has denied any link between him and the incident, describing him as a quiet, studious youth dedicated to his education and family.
Speaking to reporters, Muzamila, Umar’s sister-in-law, said that security forces had detained her husband, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law for questioning after the explosion. “They asked us about Umar’s whereabouts. We told them he is in Delhi, and then they took the three away,” she said.
She added that the family last spoke to Umar on Friday. “He was very attached to my children and loved cricket. He was engaged but not yet married and hadn’t come home for two months,” Muzamila said.
Rejecting any connection between Umar and Dr. Adil, another accused in a separate explosives case, she maintained that Umar was not involved in such activities. “We struggled to educate him so he could stand on his own. He wasn’t that kind of man,” she said.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the questioning of Umar’s family members or their possible link to the ongoing investigation into the Red Fort blast.
