UDALGURI-SONITPUR, Sept 5: A farewell reception was held at Orang Police Station in Udalguri district on Friday to honour Sub-Inspector Surajit Hazarika, who was transferred from the police station.
The programme was presided over by Officer-in-Charge Manoj Kumar Das, while Shiv Ram Deka, a member of the Orang Police Station Citizens’ Committee, explained its objective.
Sub-Inspectors Dipankar Nath and Jitumoni Kalita, along with the Secretary of the Orang Village Defence Party (VDP) and Deka, highlighted Hazarika’s dedicated service and contributions during his tenure at the police station.
Police personnel, battalion personnel and VDP members felicitated the outgoing officer with traditional xorai, gamosa and other tokens of respect.
Representatives of the BTR Journalists’ Association, local journalists’ organisations and citizens’ committees also extended farewell greetings and best wishes to Hazarika.
