Guwahati: FC Green Valley clinched a hard-fought 1–0 victory against Navajyoti Club in the ongoing Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) A Division Football League 2025–26 at Nehru Stadium on Monday.
The match’s decisive moment came early, as Nitul Das found the back of the net in the 12th minute, giving Green Valley the crucial lead. Despite several attempts from Navajyoti Club to equalise, Green Valley’s solid defensive performance ensured they held onto their narrow advantage until the final whistle.
For his outstanding display and match-winning goal, Nitul Das was named both the Hero of the Match and Player of the Match. The trophy was presented by Sri Munin Nobis, CEO of the Guwahati Sports Association.
With this victory, FC Green Valley have strengthened their position in the league standings, while Navajyoti Club will be looking to bounce back in their next outing. The tournament will continue on November 5, with Frontier Club taking on Sunrise AC and Dynamo Club facing Maharana AC, both matches kicking off at 2:00 PM.
