Fire Guts Guwahati Café in Six Mile Area, Property Loss Estimated at Over ₹50 Lakh

Guwahati, June 5: A major fire broke out at a restaurant in the Six Mile area of Guwahati in the early hours of June 5, completely gutting the establishment and causing extensive property damage.

The incident occurred at Café 7 in the busy locality, with the fire reportedly erupting around 3:30 am. The flames spread rapidly through the premises, engulfing the restaurant within a short span of time.

Fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and launched an operation to douse the blaze. After nearly half an hour of firefighting efforts, the fire was brought under control by around 4 am.

Preliminary assessments indicate that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, though the exact cause is yet to be officially confirmed.

No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, but the restaurant was completely destroyed in the blaze. The property loss is estimated to exceed ₹50 lakh.

Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the precise cause of the fire and to assess the full extent of the damage.
