Five Arrested in Connection with Assault on Four Students in Manipur’s Kakching District

Imphal: Manipur Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the assault of four students near Bijoypur along the Kakching Lamkhai–Pallel Road on the night of October 30. The arrests, made on October 31, mark a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the violent attack by unidentified assailants.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Elangbam Arun Singh (19) of Pallel Thong Wangma, Mayengbam Manglem Singh (22) of Pallel Chandel Lamkhai, Nepram Jitan Singh (18) of Pallel Thong Wangma, Moirangthem Chinglei Meitei (19) of Pallel Thong Wangma, and Moirangthem Linthou Meitei of Pallel Thong Wangma.

Police have also detained two vehicles for verification as part of the investigation, which remains active as authorities work to uncover the motive and determine whether more people were involved in the assault.

Officials have assured that strict legal action will be taken against those responsible, while efforts continue to ensure the safety and security of students in the area.
