Flag Mishap Briefly Mars Independence Day Event in Dudhnoi

Dudhnoi, August 15: An Independence Day celebration in Assam’s Dudhnoi was briefly marred by a flag mishap after the national flag was hoisted upside down during an official programme on Saturday.

The 80th Independence Day was being observed at the public playground in Udaypur under the initiative of the Dudhnoi Sub-Divisional Administration.

Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member and Dudhnoi MLA Tonkeswar Rabha hoisted the national flag as part of the celebrations.

However, shortly after it was unfurled, attendees noticed that the Tricolour was flying upside down. A police personnel immediately lowered the flag and hoisted it again in the correct position.

The ceremony subsequently continued, with Rabha taking the salute during the parade and march-past by students and police personnel.

The incident highlighted the need for greater care while handling and hoisting the national flag during official ceremonies.
