Foundation Stone Laid for New Office of Ghilamara PHE Division

Ghilamara: It was a significant and memorable day for the Ghilamara Division of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department as the foundation stone for its new divisional office building was ceremonially laid on Sunday afternoon. The long-standing demand for a modern office equipped with state-of-the-art facilities has finally received a boost after the State Government sanctioned Rs 29.742 lakh under the SPDG category for the project. The foundation stone was laid by local MLA Naba Kumar Doley in an auspicious atmosphere at the premises of the existing divisional office.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA expressed satisfaction over the approval of funds and said the new building would strengthen the functioning of the department and improve public service delivery in the region. He assured continued support for developmental initiatives in Ghilamara.

A formal function was organised on the occasion, attended by several dignitaries and officials. Executive Engineer in-charge Divya Jyoti Changmai, Assistant Engineer Anirban Phukan, Chief Assistant Mridul Phukan, Senior Assistant Hira Dutta, Laboratory In-charge Mridu Pawan Gogoi, Lakhimpur Zila Parishad President Sonia Bargohai, District Commissioner Apurba Nath, Ghilamara Zilla Parishad member Sandeswar Gogoi, BJP leader Hiranya Hazarika and other officials were present.

The new office building is expected to provide improved infrastructure and a better working environment for department staff, marking a new chapter in the development of the Ghilamara PHE Division.
