Four Alleged Dog Thieves Arrested in Assam’s Nagaon, Luxury Vehicle Seized

Samaguri Police arrested four alleged dog thieves during a late-night operation on June 11 in Assam’s Nagaon district, officials said.

According to police sources, the accused were allegedly involved in stealing dogs from different areas, including Samaguri and Puranigudam, and were reportedly attempting to transport the animals to other states.

The operation was carried out in the Gardmow area of Puranigudam, where police apprehended the four suspects. They have been identified as Ganiram Ronghang, Dorsing Terang, Sarhan Tokbi and Babi Ronghang.

During the raid, police seized a luxury vehicle allegedly used to transport the stolen dogs. Several items suspected to have been used in the theft and trafficking activities were also recovered from their possession.

The four accused have been formally arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the scope of the alleged trafficking network and determine whether additional individuals were involved in the operation.
