Imphal, May 26: Security forces arrested four active insurgent cadres linked to different proscribed groups during separate operations carried out across Manipur on May 24 and 25, officials said.
In one operation conducted on May 24, security personnel apprehended two active members of the NRFM from Pangei Nepali Basti in Imphal East district. The arrested individuals were identified as Moirangthem Samson Meitei, also known as Tonsana, aged 28, originally from Moirang Thamnapokpi Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur district and currently residing at Pangei Nepali Basti, and Chanambam Nabakumar Meetei, also known as Ebungo, aged 22, from Haotak Tampha Khunou Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district.
During the operation, security personnel recovered two mobile phones from the possession of the two accused.
In another operation conducted on May 25, security forces arrested an active cadre of the KCP (PWG), identified as Md Satibur Rahaman, also known as Boyai, aged 34. He was apprehended from his residence at Khabeisoi Sabal Leikai under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district. One mobile phone was seized during the operation.
On the same day, security personnel also arrested an active member of the KYKL, identified as Oinam Shelung Singh, also known as Amuton and Naoba, aged 30. He was detained from his locality at Seijang Awang Leikai under Yaingangpokpi Police Station in Imphal East district.
Officials said investigations into all the cases are continuing to determine further links and activities associated with the arrested individuals.
