Four Suspected Cybercriminals Arrested in Nagaon as Police Intensify Crackdown on Digital Crimes

Nagaon: In a continuing crackdown on cyber and financial crimes, Nagaon Police have arrested four suspected cybercriminals from the Kachua area of Assam’s Nagaon district. The arrests, made on October 21 following a tip-off, were officially announced on Wednesday.

According to police officials, the accused were apprehended from the Barghat bypass area during a targeted operation based on specific intelligence input.

A senior officer revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in multiple cases of cybercrime, extortion, snatching, and attempted kidnapping, and had been under surveillance for several weeks.

During the raid, police recovered multiple ATM cards and other incriminating materials from their possession. The four accused are now being interrogated to uncover details of their broader network and determine possible links to larger cybercrime syndicates active across the region.

Authorities have appealed to the public to stay alert against online scams and report any suspicious financial activity to the nearest police station to curb the rising threat of cyber offences.
