Delhi: In a significant joint operation, the Delhi Police Crime Branch and the Bihar Police neutralized four of Bihar’s most-wanted gangsters in an encounter in Delhi’s Rohini area late on Wednesday. The action, which followed specific intelligence inputs, occurred around 2:20 AM when police teams surrounded the suspects.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a fierce exchange of gunfire, resulting in the instant deaths of all four gang members. The deceased have been identified as Ranjan Pathak (25), Bimlesh Mahto alias Bimlesh Sahni (25), Manish Pathak (33), and Aman Thakur (21). Their bodies were subsequently transported to Dr. BSA Hospital in Rohini for a post-mortem examination.
Police sources indicated that the slain gangsters were allegedly planning to incite unrest in Bihar in the run-up to the state’s upcoming elections. The gang members were on the wanted list of law enforcement agencies in both Bihar and Nepal for their long history of violent crimes, extortion rackets, and other serious offenses.
According to a police official, the successful encounter was the culmination of weeks of precise, coordinated tracking and surveillance by both the Delhi and Bihar Police. “Both Delhi and Bihar Police had been monitoring this gang’s movements for some time. After confirming their presence in Rohini, the operation was executed with precision. This successful encounter will serve as a strong message to organized crime networks,” the officer stated. The Delhi Police have initiated a wider investigation to trace the gang’s network and any potential associates operating within the National Capital Region.
