Golaghat: To encourage school students to enhance their mathematical skills and overcome the fear of the subject, a special state-level examination titled ‘Ganit Utkarsha Sadhan’ will be held on November 2 across various centres in Assam.
Organised by the Mathematical Society, Golaghat, with guidance from the Assam Academy of Mathematics, the initiative has been running successfully for the past seven years. This year’s examination will be conducted in six categories for students of Classes V to X.

The test will comprise multiple-choice questions based on class-wise curriculum, Mathematics Olympiad content, and reasoning sections drawn from different competitive exams.
So far, 30 centres across seven districts have registered to host the examination. Educational institutions interested in becoming examination centres can apply by September 26 by contacting 9435526146, 8638886441, or 7896624087.
Students wishing to participate must register at their nearest examination centre by October 16. The registration fee is fixed at Rs 150.

Organisers expressed hope that the examination will not only sharpen problem-solving abilities but also inspire students to develop a positive approach toward mathematics from an early age.
