Garchiga Tribal HSS celebrated Teachers’ Day

North Lakhimpur: Garchiga Tribal HS School, Garchiga under Nowboicha legislative constituency in Lakhimpur district celebrated National Teachers’ Day to commemorate the birthday of great scholar Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan with great pomp and show. The Day’s programme was arranged by the students of Garchiga Tribal HS School. As per programmes, Prashanta Borah, assistant teacher, Garchiga Tribal HSS,    paid homage to the portrait of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan by lightening the lamp at 10-45 a.m. A meeting on the occasion was also held at the school auditorium at 11 a.m. under the presidentship of Mainul Hoque, Principal, Garchiga Tribal HSS, started with a chorus performed by the female students. The meeting was largely attended by the students of the institution, besides all teaching and non-teaching staff took part in the meeting. The teachers were felicitated with traditional floral Assamese Gamosha and a pen each. Kusha Kumar Sarkar, retired teacher of the school, while speaking on the importance of the celebration of the Day, invited the students to follow the ideals and philosophy of the noble soul in their lives. The meeting was also addressed by Post-Graduate Teacher Madhab Pegu and Assistant Teachers Rashmi Bhuyan and  Prashanta Borah, the latter also conducted the meeting as the president,apart from several students. A number of students performed dances  in the meeting.
