New Delhi, June 25: Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday criticised the Central government over the alleged NEET paper leak issue, accusing it of failing to uphold accountability on matters impacting students and the wider public.
Addressing the media in Delhi, Gogoi said the Congress party continues to raise concerns regarding alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and questioned the government’s handling of the issue.
He stated that if the government does not respond to concerns raised on public matters, it must clarify its position on democratic accountability. Gogoi added that several sections of society, including farmers, Agniveers, women students and examination candidates, continue to face unresolved challenges.
The Congress leader also linked the NEET controversy to broader concerns over recruitment and examination systems, including UPSC and CBSE, alleging a lack of institutional accountability.
Gogoi emphasised that democratic governance requires responsiveness and transparency, and said the government must answer questions being raised over public trust and systemic integrity.
