Guwahati: Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), conducted a comprehensive inspection of Kamakhyaguri and New Coochbehar railway stations in West Bengal on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager Devendra Singh and senior officials from NFR Headquarters and the Alipurduar Division.
At Kamakhyaguri, Shrivastava inspected all three platforms, the 12-metre-wide Foot Over Bridge, lifts, circulating areas, waiting halls, lounge, parking zone, Station Master’s Room, and ticket counters. The focus remained on enhancing passenger amenities, safety, cleanliness, and overall asset upkeep. He also interacted with public representatives, business groups and met the media.

At New Coochbehar, the General Manager reviewed operational and passenger facilities including the Station Superintendent and Station Master’s panels, crew lobby, running room, waiting halls, retiring room, dormitory, and circulating areas. He emphasized maintaining efficient, passenger-centric infrastructure.
The inspection aimed to strengthen service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and elevate the travel experience across NFR. The redevelopment of Kamakhyaguri under the ABSS scheme underscores Indian Railways’ commitment to modern, upgraded infrastructure.
