Governor KT Parnaik Urges NIT Arunachal Graduates to Blend Innovation with Nation-Building at 12th Convocation

Itanagar, Feb 22: KT Parnaik on February 21 urged graduates of the National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh to integrate technical expertise with innovation, ethical values and social responsibility as they step into their professional careers.

Addressing the 12th convocation ceremony at the DK Convention Centre, the Governor emphasised the importance of problem-solving aligned with national priorities, adaptability in a rapidly evolving world and a commitment to lifelong learning. He said that every NIT graduate has the capacity to contribute meaningfully to the vision of Viksit Bharat, not only through professional accomplishments but through purposeful and socially responsible action.

He encouraged students to uphold integrity, inclusiveness, sustainability and teamwork, stressing that nation-building is a shared responsibility and that individual success is closely linked to collective effort. Highlighting the broader role of National Institutes of Technology, he said such institutions play a crucial part in delivering quality technical education, advancing research and fostering innovation that addresses societal needs, including strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem and the MSME sector.

Governor Parnaik commended the institute’s achievements, noting its 95 per cent placement record and participation of more than 100 companies in recruitment drives. He also acknowledged the establishment of a 5G laboratory equipped with advanced research facilities in communication technology as a significant milestone.

A total of 371 students were conferred degrees during the ceremony, comprising 319 undergraduate, seven master’s and 47 PhD graduates. Gold medals were presented to Vishal Raj, Vanshika Marwaha, Bhukya Nageswari, Kunisetty Narendra and Jyotiranjan Satapathy for securing top positions in their respective branches.

Director Prof Mohan V Aware presented a comprehensive report outlining the institute’s academic progress, placement outcomes, training programmes and other key activities. The institute currently has an enrolment of 851 students supported by 48 faculty members.
