GSP Expands Assam Poll Push, Announces Fresh Candidates Including Third List

Guwahati, March 21: The Gana Suraksha Party, led by Naba Kumar Sarania, has stepped up its preparations for the Assam Legislative Assembly elections 2026 by announcing candidates across multiple constituencies, including its third list.

Earlier, the party had named Ramesh Chandra Das for the 42-Baksa constituency and Chinmoyee Bhuyan Bordoloi for the 35-New Guwahati seat, indicating its intent to establish a wider electoral footprint.

At a press conference held in Barama, the GSP unveiled its third list, fielding Nagen Deka from Tongla, Deepak Rajbongshi from Bhergaon, and Nabajit Sarania from Tamulpur. For the Manas constituency, the party has nominated Dr. Manani Devi alongside Naba Kumar Sarania, who will also contest from Bijni.

The latest announcements underline the party’s continued focus on expanding its presence, particularly in the Bodoland Territorial Region, where it is aiming to contest several seats and strengthen its position ahead of the polls.
