Guwahati Police detained three people at Hotel Star Inn in Sijubari, Hatigaon, for questioning over their alleged links to cybercrime following information provided by local residents.
Police launched the operation after residents reportedly became suspicious of the activities of some people staying at the hotel. The three detainees were taken for questioning to establish their identities, activities and possible links to a cybercrime network.
The hotel manager and some employees were also detained for questioning as part of the investigation.
Police were continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the activities at the hotel. Further details were awaited.
