Entertainment, March 24: Fans of Hannah Montana were treated to a nostalgic reunion as the original cast gathered for the world premiere of the show’s 20th anniversary special on March 24.
Miley Cyrus led the reunion, arriving on the red carpet in a sparkling silver gown featuring an imprint of her iconic character, a tribute to the role that launched her career. She was joined by co-stars Jason Earles, Moises Arias, Cody Linley, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle and Shanica Knowles, marking a rare public reunion years after the series concluded.
However, Emily Osment, who portrayed Lilly Truscott, was absent due to filming commitments for George & Mandy’s First Marriage. In a video message shared online, she thanked fans for their continued support and reflected on the show’s lasting impact. She described the experience as life-changing, crediting it with instilling discipline and professionalism at a young age, while calling the series a “once in a generation” phenomenon.
First aired in 2006, Hannah Montana ran for four seasons before ending in 2011. The show followed the double life of teenager Miley Stewart, balancing ordinary school life with global fame as a pop star. It became one of Disney Channel’s most successful programmes, earning multiple award nominations, including four Emmy nods for Outstanding Children’s Programme.
The franchise expanded with the release of Hannah Montana: The Movie in 2009, further cementing its popularity among audiences. The anniversary reunion highlights the enduring legacy of the series, which continues to resonate with fans nearly two decades after its debut.
