Itanagar, June 24: Heavy rainfall that lashed parts of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning caused extensive damage in Possa village, Pitapool and Nepco Colony under Keyi Panyor district, disrupting normal life and affecting road connectivity.
According to local sources, continuous rain triggered landslides and soil erosion at multiple locations, damaging roads and related infrastructure across the affected areas.
The crucial road linking Potin and Possa was blocked at several points due to landslips and debris accumulation, making the route inaccessible to vehicles.
The disruption affected daily commuting and hindered the movement of essential goods and services, causing inconvenience to residents in the region.
Authorities and local residents are assessing the extent of the damage and are expected to begin restoration work to restore connectivity at the earliest.
Travellers and residents have been advised to avoid the Potin–Possa route until further notice and remain cautious amid continuing adverse weather conditions.
No casualties have been reported so far. However, officials remain on alert as rainfall is expected to continue in parts of the district.
