Guwahati: A resident of Hengrabari Lichubagan Udaypur has appealed to the authorities for urgent intervention over a drinking water connection that has allegedly remained unresolved for the past three years. Abhinash Kalita, a local resident, stated that despite applying for a water supply connection with the Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board (GMDWSB), his family has yet to receive regular water service. The application, submitted in his mother’s name, bears the reference number SCLBO21/00402.

According to Kalita, the prolonged delay has caused severe hardship for his family. “We are not economically strong and are facing great difficulty buying water regularly. Water is a basic necessity, and without regular supply, survival itself becomes challenging,” he said. Residents of the Hengrabari Lichubagan Udaypur area have reportedly been experiencing water-related issues for several years, raising concerns about access to safe and affordable drinking water. Kalita mentioned that although he supports government initiatives, the lack of basic services such as water supply remains a pressing concern for many families in the locality.
