Indian Rlys. Introduces Three New Train Services 

Guwahati: In a major boost to connectivity for Mizoram, Indian Railways has announced the introduction of three new pairs of train services from Sairang station near Aizawl. The inaugural runs of all three trains will be flagged off on September 13, 2025, marking a historic milestone for the state’s rail network.

The first service, Sairang–Anand Vihar Terminal Rajdhani Express (Train No. 20507/20508), will connect Mizoram directly with the national capital. The inaugural run will begin on September 13 from Sairang, with regular weekly operations starting September 19. The train will run via Badarpur Jn., Guwahati, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town and Bhagalpur.

The second service, Sairang–Guwahati Express (Train No. 15609/15610), will provide daily connectivity between Mizoram’s capital and Assam’s gateway city. Following the inaugural special service on September 13, regular daily operations will commence the same day, ensuring overnight travel between the two cities.

The third service, Sairang–Kolkata Tri-Weekly Express (Train No. 13125/13126), will link Mizoram with the eastern metropolis. The inaugural run departs on September 13, with regular tri-weekly operations from September 16. The train will travel via Badarpur Jn., Guwahati, Goalpara Town, Golakganj, New Jalpaiguri and Malda Town.

Northeast Frontier Railway officials said the new services will not only strengthen passenger movement but also open avenues for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange. Detailed timings and stoppages have been uploaded on the IRCTC website and shared through NFR’s social media platforms.
