Karbi Anglong: In a major breakthrough, Karbi Anglong police have dismantled an active inter-state child trafficking racket, rescuing several victims including a mother and her minor daughter who had been sold in Delhi and Rajasthan three years ago. According to police, the minor girl was trafficked to Delhi for ₹30,000, while her mother was sold in Rajasthan for ₹1 lakh. Their rescue marks a significant success in the district police’s ongoing efforts against organized trafficking syndicates operating across state lines. The operation also led to the rescue of one child from Golaghat and two more from West Bengal, exposing the wide geographical reach of the network. Two prime accused, identified as Meena Inghipi alias Meena Yadav and Sanjay Lohar, have been arrested. Authorities believe they played a pivotal role in facilitating the trafficking chain. The details were revealed on Friday evening during a press conference by Karbi Anglong Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Saikia. He emphasized the seriousness of the crime and assured that investigations are continuing to trace other members of the racket and rescue more victims.
