IPL 2026 Hits Record 1.1 Billion Viewers Across Platforms

Mumbai: JioStar has reported record-breaking viewership figures for the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 season, with the tournament achieving its highest-ever combined reach of 1.1 billion viewers across television and digital platforms. As the race for playoff spots intensifies, audience engagement has continued to rise sharply across devices and formats. According to JioStar, linear television reach is on course to touch the 500-million mark, while digital reach has increased by 15 percent and overall watch-time has grown by 7 percent compared to the previous season.

The company also revealed significant growth in Connected TV (CTV) consumption, with reach rising by 25 percent and watch-time increasing by 20 percent. Regional language broadcasts have emerged as a major driver of engagement, recording a remarkable 42 percent surge in watch-time. JioStar’s IPL 2026 coverage has also attracted strong advertiser interest, with 125 new advertisers joining this season. The platform has secured partnerships with 22 sponsors on digital and 16 on linear television, reflecting the growing commercial appeal of the tournament.

The broadcaster credited part of the success to innovations such as the “Champions Wali Feed,” featuring former cricket stars including Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag and Irfan Pathan. The special feed offers expert analysis, behind-the-scenes stories and live match predictions alongside the games. JioStar said the combination of unpredictable results, emerging young talent and consistent performances from established stars has helped sustain fan interest throughout the tournament. With the league entering its final phase, the strong numbers further reinforce IPL’s position as one of the world’s biggest sporting properties and strengthen JioStar’s standing as a major destination for live sports entertainment.
