ITF Masters MT200: Double Crowns for Daniel, Sunumoni, Mamawia & Joseph

Guwahati: The ITF Masters MT200 Tennis Tournament concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex, Chachal, with an impressive display of skill and sportsmanship. The finals saw a clean sweep by several players who secured double crowns, including Daniel John (Germany), Mamawia Lalthanmawia, Joseph Zotinkhuma, and Sunumoni Barkataki (India).

At the time of reporting, the Mixed Doubles 45+ final between Sunumoni Barkataki/Mamawia Lalthanmawia and Subhash Kalita/Babita Mohan Langthasa was still underway. In the Men’s Singles 55+ category, Mamawia Lalthanmawia clinched the title, while Daniel John triumphed in the Men’s Singles 45+ event. Joseph Zotinkhuma emerged victorious in the Men’s Singles 35+, and Sunumoni Barkataki dominated the Women’s Singles 45+ final.

The doubles category also witnessed high-intensity matches. Daniel John, pairing with Peter Jancuska (Slovakia), captured the Men’s Doubles 45+ title, while Mamawia Lalthanmawia and Joseph Zotinkhuma lifted the Men’s Doubles 35+ trophy. In the Women’s Doubles 35+ final, Sunumoni Barkataki teamed up with Paramita Guharoy to secure the championship.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Shri Ankush Dutta, Honorary General Secretary of AATA, and Shri Digantajyoti Gogoi, Joint Secretary of AATA, who presented the trophies to the winners. The event showcased outstanding performances from both Indian and international players, reinforcing Guwahati’s growing status as a premier tennis destination in the region.
