Guwahati: The stage is set for the finals of the ITF Masters MT200 Tennis Tournament at the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) complex in Chachal, Guwahati, with top-seeded players from India and abroad gearing up for the title clashes on Thursday.
In the men’s 45+ singles final, second seed Daniel John of Germany will face Peter Jancuska of Slovakia in what promises to be an exciting contest. John advanced after defeating India’s Shahnawaz Zaffar 6-0, 6-1, while Jancuska entered the final following Ngamkholet Haokip’s retirement at 6-2, 2-0.
In the men’s 35+ singles final, India’s Joseph Zotinkhuma will take on compatriot Rahul Buragohain, both of whom cruised past their semifinal opponents in straight sets.
