Job Scam Busted in Margherita: Two Brothers Accused for Fake Job Offers

Margherita: A shocking case of employment fraud has surfaced in Margherita, where two brothers allegedly duped four local youths by promising them lucrative jobs abroad and extorted lakhs of rupees under false pretenses.

The accused, identified as Akash Debnath and Ankit Debnath of Margherita Chariali, reportedly lured the victims with promises of placement at Royal Health India (RHI), a company based in Jamshedpur.

According to the victims, the scam began when Mukta Ahmed Chowdhury of Margherita Namdang Bashbari was approached and asked to pay ₹25,000 for company processing and ₹2,000 for registration. After a month of so-called training, Mukta was allegedly told he would get the job only if he recruited two more youths — Jeet Debnath and Raj Debnath — who were also cheated in a similar manner. Another victim, Bikash Kumar Shah from Digboi, later fell into the same trap.

The victims claimed they were confined and prevented from contacting their families during the ordeal. They eventually managed to escape and returned home safely.
