Darrang: N F Railway have clinched the title of the Kankalata Baruah Inter-District Women’s T-20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Assam Cricket Association. In the final match of the tournament, held today at the Mangaldai Stadium, NF Railway (NFRSA) defeated Barpeta by ten wickets. Batting first, Barpeta were all out for 24 runs in 13.4 overs. Diya Barma contributed the highest score of 9, while the opposition’s Rashmi Dey and Mousumi Narah took four wickets each, and Nirupama Boro claimed two. In reply, NF Railway reached the target in 6.1 overs without losing a wicket. For the team, Shivani Bishnoi (not out) contributed 13 and Gayatri Gurung (not out) 11 runs. The trophies were presented to the champion and Runners-up team at the prize distribution ceremony by Nilima Devi, Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, Sharmistha Baruah, Superintendent of Police, Darrang; and Rumi Boro, a member of the Apex Council of the ACA, among others. The Player of the Tournament was awarded to Khushi Sharma of Barpeta. The Best Bowler and Best Batsman awards were won by Rashmi Dey of the Railways.
