Karbi Anglong Administration Orders Expulsion of Three Declared Foreigners, Sets 24-Hour Deadline

Guwahati, Feb 7: The Karbi Anglong district administration has directed three individuals declared foreigners by the Foreigners’ Tribunal (FT) to leave Assam and India within 24 hours of receiving expulsion notices, officials said.

The orders were issued on February 2 by the District Commissioner under Section 2 of the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950, following final tribunal verdicts that identified the individuals as foreigners. The action forms part of the state government’s ongoing drive to strictly enforce FT rulings.

Those served with expulsion orders are Md. Faizul Haque of Manja Nadipar village under Manja Police Station, declared a foreigner in FT Case No. 280/2006 (C); Md. Rafiqul Ali from Hidim Teron Basti, also under Manja Police Station, declared a foreigner in FT Case No. 203/2007; and Md. Fakaruddin of Jadav Rai Grant under Bokajan Police Station, declared a foreigner in FT Case No. 897/2006 (C).

According to the orders, the three individuals have been instructed to exit Assam and the country within 24 hours through designated routes via Dhubri, Sribhumi or South Salmara–Mankachar districts.

The district administration has also directed multiple departments to ensure strict implementation of the orders. These include confiscation of movable and immovable properties and depositing them in the name of the government, removal of names from electoral rolls, cancellation of ration cards, freezing or cancellation of Aadhaar cards, and termination of access to all government welfare schemes and social security benefits.

Officials concerned have been asked to carry out the directions without delay and submit compliance reports to the district administration. The move reflects intensified efforts by the Assam government to act swiftly on tribunal decisions under the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, with similar orders having been issued in several districts in recent months as part of measures to address illegal immigration.
