North Lakhimpur: An awareness meeting on distance education organised by Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), the first and only State Open University of Northeast India, was held at Garchiga Tribal HS School, North Lakhimpur today.

In the meeting, attended by more than two hundred Higher Secondary students of the school, the co-ordinator of the KKHSOU Nowboicha Study Centre Dr. Rajlakhi Doley explained to the students in detail about the courses and admission procedures of KKHSOU, apart from different aspects of the courses. “Both the regular courses and distance courses have same value and same demand,”she informed. She urged the students to take admission and study at KKHSOU Nowboicha Study Centre after completing HS course. She also urged the students to inform their relatives and neighbours about the courses and its admission procedures at KKHSOU Nowboicha Study Centre. KKHSOU Lakhimpur Regional Centre Director Dr. Bhaskar Bhuyan also spoke in detail about the KKHSOU and its courses.

KKHSOU Assistant Professor of Philosophy Utpal Gogoi also spoke on the occasion. The meeting was conducted by the Principal of the school Mainul Hoque. PGT Powal Gogoi anchored the meeting. Besides the students, all the PGTs and retired office assistant of the school Dasiram Payeng were present in the meeting.
