Leaders Extend Warm Wishes to Nagaland on Statehood Day

National and regional leaders extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Nagaland on 1 December, celebrating the state’s 62nd Statehood Day and acknowledging its cultural richness, resilient spirit, and steady progress in sustainable development.

President Droupadi Murmu, in a message shared on social media, praised Nagaland for its unique heritage and natural beauty while noting the state’s ongoing development journey. She wrote, “Warm greetings to the people of Nagaland on Statehood Day! Blessed with a rich culture and boundless natural beauty, Nagaland continues to make commendable strides in sustainable development.” Her message highlighted the state’s efforts to balance modern growth with the preservation of traditional identity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his best wishes, recognising Nagaland’s contributions to the nation and commending the people for their commitment to peace and progress. He expressed hope for the state’s continued advancement across various sectors.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma joined national leaders in greeting the people of Nagaland, saying, “Warm greetings to my brothers & sisters in Nagaland on the state’s Foundation Day!” He acknowledged the state’s vibrant cultures and proud traditions while appreciating the progress it has made over the years. Sarma also expressed optimism for Nagaland’s continued growth and prosperity.
