Leadership Conclave 2025 Begins at Assam Royal Global University

Guwahati: Leaders from academia, industry, and startups across India convened at The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) today for the two-day Leadership Conclave 2025, held under the theme “Ethics and the Evolving Workplace.” The event aims to address urgent questions shaping the future of work.

At the inaugural panel, “Minimal Input, Maximum Outcome: Has the Hustle Culture Rebranded Laziness?”, Prof. Alaka Sarma, Academician and Co-Founder of Akshar Foundation, underscored the importance of nurturing children as contributors rather than dependents. She cautioned against the alienation caused by lack of parental attention, which technology often exacerbates, and stressed the need for balanced strategies to minimize such risks.

The session also featured Sailaja M (HR Head, Sephora, Mumbai), Abbhay Kapoor (SVP, UIL Group, Delhi), and Sanjay Aditya Singh (MD & CEO, Jettwings Airways, Guwahati), moderated by Bristy Srivastava, Head of the Royal Centre for Corporate Relations, RGU.

Other panels explored women’s leadership challenges, redefining HR in the algorithm age, and accountability in startup culture. Notable speakers included Sumit Agarwal (DEI Champion, Kolkata), Sujeet Sinha (Kotak Mahindra Bank), Govindprasad Gaonkar (Kotak Mahindra AMC), David Pratim Gogoi (Zerund Bricks), and Nitin Bajpai (Jio).

Over two days, the conclave will deliberate on advancing women in leadership, rethinking hustle culture, redefining HR, and preparing Gen Z for ethical challenges in professional life.
