GUWAHATI, Aug 16: The Lions Club of Guwahati Pride, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Guwahati Life, organised an Independence Day flag hoisting and tree plantation programme at Santipriya L.P. Primary School in Chandmari on August 15.
Around 50 students, 10 teachers and 20 parents participated in the programme, which began with the hoisting of the National Flag. The event was followed by a tree plantation drive during which around 20 saplings were planted.
The programme aimed to encourage students to understand the importance of patriotism while also promoting environmental conservation.
Lions Club of Guwahati Pride president Lion Chitra Bhartia, secretary Lion Sunidhi Agarwal, chairpersons Lion Bijay Bhimsaria and Lion Anil Agarwal, along with Lion Sonia Agarwal, Lion Uttam Agarwal, Lion Vinita Bhimsaria and Lion Anil Bhartia, attended the programme. Seven members of Lions Club of Guwahati Life also participated.
The programme was conducted with the support of the school authorities, students, teachers, parents and members of both Lions Clubs.
