LPG Supply Stable in East Khasi Hills, Minor Delays Due to Transit Issues: Administration

Shillong, March 19: Authorities in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, have assured that domestic LPG supply remains stable across the district, with sufficient stock available to meet consumer demand despite minor delays in distribution.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), oil marketing companies and authorised distributors are continuing regular supply operations without any disruption. Officials confirmed that existing stock levels are adequate and there is no cause for concern.

However, the administration acknowledged a temporary backlog in distribution, estimated at around 1.2 to 1.4 days, attributing the delay to transit-related issues.

Residents have been advised against panic booking or hoarding of LPG cylinders, with officials cautioning that such practices could lead to artificial shortages and inconvenience other consumers.

Consumers have been urged to continue booking cylinders through standard channels. In case of technical difficulties with online booking, manual booking through authorised gas agencies has been recommended.

The administration also stressed the importance of completing e-KYC verification to ensure smooth and transparent distribution of LPG supplies.

Officials said the situation is under close monitoring to maintain uninterrupted availability. Citizens have been requested to remain calm and cooperate with authorities, while any grievances or irregularities can be reported to LPG distributors or the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
