Lumparing lifted their first Shillong Sports Association (SSA) Women’s Football League title after defeating defending champions Laitkor 3–1 in the 2025 final at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo.
Pynhun Shulet starred for Lumparing, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 18th, 25th and 60th minutes to seal the historic win. Laitkor briefly drew level through Tracy Rympei’s powerful long-range strike in the 22nd minute, but Lumparing maintained control and dictated the decisive phases of the match.
The final highlighted contrasting journeys for the two sides. Lumparing were appearing in their first-ever league final and converted the opportunity into a maiden championship. For Laitkor, the defeat marked their third runners-up finish, reinforcing their consistency in the competition despite falling short in finals.
Lumparing took an early lead when Shulet headed home from a corner. Laitkor responded swiftly as Rympei found the net from distance to restore parity. However, the balance lasted only a few minutes, with Shulet capitalising on a defensive lapse to score from close range and give Lumparing a 2–1 lead at halftime.
The contest tilted decisively in the second half. Shulet won a penalty but failed to convert, only to make amends soon after by completing her hat-trick. Laitkor were unable to mount a comeback, with Lumparing goalkeeper Priyanka Latam producing a composed display to deny any late resurgence.
Lumparing received Rs 50,000 as champions, while Laitkor were awarded Rs 25,000 for finishing second.
Individual honours were presented at the closing ceremony. Shulet was named Player of the Final, while Catherine Kharkongor of Lumparing claimed both the Top Scorer and Player of the Tournament awards. Priyanka Latam won Best Goalkeeper. Badarisha Kharumnuid of Pay For Right was adjudged Best Defender, Bahunlang Synrem of Lumparing Best Midfielder, and Phibanda Mary Nongrum of Pay For Right the Most Promising Player. Rangdajied United were recognised as the Best Disciplined Team.
