Guwahati: The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) on Tuesday announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, with party president Lurinjyoti Gogoi set to contest from the Khowang constituency. As per the list, Mainak Patra has been fielded from Dibrugarh, while Pankaj Lochan Goswami will contest from Palasbari. Dilip Barua has been nominated from Bajali.

The party has also named Jiban Chutia as its candidate from Sarupathar. Rejaul Karim Chowdhury will contest from Binnakandi, while Bani Das has been fielded from Morigaon. Rajen Gohain will represent the party from Barampur. Party sources informed that candidates for Central Guwahati and Sadiya constituencies are yet to be finalised and will be announced in the next phase.
With the release of its first list, the AJP has formally kicked off its electoral campaign, signalling its intent to expand its political footprint across key constituencies in the state. More names are expected to be declared in the coming days as the party gears up for the election.
