The seized car bears registration number AS 01 MA 5522. However, sensing danger, the smugglers abandoned the vehicle on the roadside and managed to flee from the spot before the police could apprehend them. A manhunt has been launched to trace and arrest the accused involved in the illegal cattle trafficking network. The rescued cattle and the seized vehicle have been taken to Bilasipara Police Station, where a case has been registered and further investigation is underway. Police officials suspect the involvement of an organised cattle smuggling syndicate operating in the border region.

The incident has once again exposed the growing menace of cattle smuggling in the Bilasipara area and raised serious concerns over illegal trafficking routes being used by organised criminal groups.
