Maibang, June 4: Himangshu Jyoti Gohain, Officer-in-Charge of Maibang Police Station in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, has been awarded a commendation letter by the Director General of Police (DGP), Assam, in recognition of his professional excellence and dedicated service.
The honour was conferred for his role in a successful police operation that led to the apprehension of an accused and the recovery of an AK-56 rifle, a magazine containing eight live rounds, along with other incriminating materials.
The DGP’s commendation letter acknowledged Gohain’s competence, commitment to duty and contribution towards maintaining law and order in the region. Officials said the recognition reflects his effective leadership during the operation.
Expressing gratitude, Gohain thanked the Assam DGP for the acknowledgement and said the award would further motivate him to serve with greater dedication. He described the recognition as both humbling and encouraging, adding that it would inspire him to perform his duties with renewed sincerity.
