Major Police Operation in Sapatgram, Over 7 Kg Ganja and ₹22,380 Cash seized

Bilasipara: In a major breakthrough against the illegal drug trade, police in Sapatgram under Bilasipara Co-District  carried out a successful raid at Atiyabari village. Acting on a tip-off, the police launched a sudden operation and recovered a large quantity of ganja from the residence of Ratneshwar Nath, a local resident.

According to sources, Ratneshwar Nath had been engaged in the illegal trade of ganja smuggling and supply for a long time, and several complaints had been lodged against him. During the raid, police seized 7 kg 432 grams of ganja along with ₹22,380 in cash from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody. Police officials confirmed that interrogation is underway to uncover the wider network involved in the trade.

Authorities have also indicated that strict measures will continue in the region to curb narcotics trafficking. Local residents appreciated the police action and expressed hope that such operations would help eliminate the menace of drug trade from the area.
