Guwahati: The 70th Zonal Railway Week Awards Ceremony of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) was held at Rang Bhawan, Maligaon, on January 10, 2026, in the presence of Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager, N.F. Railway. Principal Heads of Departments and senior officers from the Headquarters attended the event and congratulated the awardees for their dedication and exemplary service.
Officers and staff from various departments of NFR’s five divisions and Headquarters were conferred with the prestigious Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (VRSP), 2025 for outstanding professional excellence and significant contributions towards improving efficiency, safety and passenger services. A total of 49 awardees were honoured across diverse functional areas.

The recipients included officials from General Administration, Commercial, Medical, Signal & Telecommunication, Personnel, Safety, Security and Stores Departments. Major recognition also went to the Electrical, Operating, Mechanical and Civil Engineering Departments, acknowledging their vital role in operations, maintenance and infrastructure development.
On the occasion, Coaching Depot Kamakhya was honoured with the Best Coaching Depot Award for 2025 for excellence in coaching maintenance and services. Addressing the gathering, senior officials lauded the awardees’ professionalism and teamwork, reaffirming NFR’s commitment to recognising merit and promoting excellence.
