Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh distributed government subsidies to 2,835 eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme during an event in Imphal on September 17.
Speaking on the initiative via social media, the Chief Minister stated that the financial assistance will help unorganized, grassroots food-processing units upgrade operations, expand their business scale, and integrate smoothly into the formal economy. The PMFME initiative is designed to build enterprise capacity and bolster local entrepreneurship across the state’s food-processing sector.
The distribution ceremony, held at Yumnam Leikai Yumjao Lairembi Lampak, was attended by Caretaker Mayor Laishangbam Lokeshwor Singh, municipal corporators Th. Bankim Singh and Th. Eliza Devi, and Singjamei Mandal BJP President L. Shantikumar Sharma.
