IMPHAL: Manipur Congress MLA Keisham Meghachandra Singh said he would continue to demand justice and restoration of normalcy in the state following an explosion near his residence at Yairipok Bishnunaha.
Meghachandra said police reached the spot immediately after the blast. He reiterated that he would continue raising issues concerning the state, including the demand to update the National Register of Citizens (NRC) with 1951 as the base year.
“Right after the blast, the police came immediately. I will continue my demand for justice in this state, and I will fight for justice,” he said.
The Congress leader said the demand for restoring normalcy and resolving issues facing Manipur had also been raised strongly in the Assembly over the past two days.
He said Congress MLAs had raised several “core issues”, including the demand for updating the NRC and retaining 1951 as its base year.
Meghachandra alleged that the BJP government had rejected the demand and said it was shared by people across Manipur. He also criticised the government for what he described as a lack of a clear roadmap to address the prevailing situation.
“There is no roadmap from the government till now,” he said.
