IMPHAL: Manipur Police arrested a 35-year-old woman with two bundles of suspected WY tablets during a checking operation along National Highway-102 in Kakching district on October 1, while security personnel detained an alleged active member of the KCP (PWG) in a separate operation in Imphal West.
The woman, identified as Sangomsumbam Silma of Urup Makha Leikai in Imphal East, was intercepted and frisked at Yaithibi Loukol under Kakching police station. Police said the suspected WY tablets were recovered during the operation. She was subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.
In the separate operation on September 30, a team of the Combined Operations and Development (CDO), Imphal West, searched an area at Leitong Maning Leikai under Patsoi police station and arrested Khundrakpam Biren Meitei alias Kethabi and Nanao, 35, of Sairemkhul Mayai Leikai in Imphal West.
Police said 19 demand letters allegedly issued by the KCP (PWG) were recovered from his possession. Further investigation into the case is underway.
