Manipur Police Officer Honoured with Kendriya Grihamantri Dakshata Padak 2025 for Exemplary Investigation

Imphal: The Manipur Police has announced that WSI Phuritsabam Romibala Devi of Jiribam District Police has been awarded the Kendriya Grihamantri Dakshata Padak 2025 for her exceptional work in the field of investigation.

The national honour recognises her exemplary handling of a highly sensitive case — FIR No. 16(05)2022 JBM-PS U/S 354/376/506 IPC — involving the rape of a 22-year-old differently-abled woman in Sonapur, Jiribam District.

Demonstrating remarkable professionalism, empathy, and diligence, WSI Romibala Devi ensured that the investigation was carried out with utmost sensitivity. She collaborated with sign language experts to communicate effectively with the survivor, meticulously gathered forensic evidence, and secured DNA confirmation that conclusively linked the accused to the crime.

Her thorough and compassionate approach culminated in the filing of a watertight charge sheet on June 27, 2025, paving the way for swift justice.

Commending her dedication, the Manipur Police stated that WSI Romibala Devi’s achievement reflects the force’s unwavering commitment to investigative excellence, justice, and the protection of women’s rights and dignity.
