Guwahati, Sep 5: The Marwari Yuva Manch along with the Bhupen Hazarika Cultural Trust shall organize a cyclothon (cycle rally) on the 7th of September to celebrate the 100th Birth Anniversary of “Sudhakantha” Dr Bhupen Hazarika. The event is being supported by the Assam Cycling Community.
The rally shall start at 6:00 AM in the morning starting from the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra in Jalukbari.
Speaking to The Assam Rising, Ramesh Pareek, Sports Convenor, Marwari Yuva Manch said, “The cyclothon is being organized to celebrate the 100th Birth Anniversary of “Bharat Ratna” Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. It is an attempt to keep alive his ideologies and teachings”.
“Participants will be provided with T- Shirts, Breakfast and E- Certificates after completion of the ride. The cycle rally shall be flagged off by Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice- Chancellor, Gauhati University whereas, Partha Sarathi Mahanta, City Police Commissioner shall grace the closing ceremony”, added Pareek.
