Tamulpur: A large joining ceremony was held on Monday night at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP and UPPL candidate for the 43 – Tamulpur Legislative Assembly constituency, Pramod Boro, in Sauraguri. During the event, around 300 people from various political parties formally joined the UPPL. Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Pramod Boro confidently stated that as the election day approaches, people from all sections of BTC are leaving other parties and showing increasing support for the UPPL. He said this proves that people from all communities are now with his party. Mentioning that UPPL is contesting alone in all 15 seats of BTC, Boro claimed that they are certain to win between 10 to 12 seats.
At the same time, strongly criticizing NDA candidate from Tamulpur, Biswajit Daimary, Boro said that despite holding important positions such as MLA, MP, and Speaker for a long time, Daimary has done nothing for the people of Tamulpur. He alleged that Daimary only visited the constituency in the name of development for personal gain. He further claimed that the “new Tamulpur” has developed only during the UPPL’s tenure.’

On the other hand, dismissing Hagrama Mohilary’s claim of having “electoral magic,” Boro remarked that only magic could help the NDA win all 15 seats. He asserted that UPPL has earned the trust of the people through continuous grassroots work.
Citing examples such as Lawrence Islary contesting against Hagrama Mohilary’s wife in Kokrajhar and educated candidates like Datma’s Raju Narzary, Boro said that UPPL candidates are hardworking and well-educated individuals, whereas the BPF lacks a strong foundation. Therefore, he expressed confidence that UPPL will secure victory with the highest number of votes.
