Udalguri-Sonitpur, Aug 19: The annual meeting of the Mazbat Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, affiliated with the All Assam Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, was held at the organisation’s office in Mazbat, Udalguri district, on Tuesday.
The day-long programme began with the hoisting of the organisational flag at 8 a.m., followed by a memorial tribute at 8.30 a.m. The open session, chaired by Samiti president Shardee Acharya, began at 3.30 p.m.
Renu Barua, Minati Kakati Bhuyan, Anita Bhuyan, Binu Sharma and Minati Patowary addressed the gathering. Raji Devi and Pratibha Medhi presented songs, while Ulupi Dutta recited a self-composed poem.
Secretary Rita Devi presented the annual report and conducted the proceedings. During the programme, the central committee conferred the ‘Sadasya Ratna Award’ on Binu Sharma, founder-secretary of the Mazbat Lekhika Samaroh Samiti.
Minati Patowary, Assistant Professor in the History Department of Mazbat College, was also felicitated with a congratulatory letter for obtaining her doctoral degree.
