Golaghati: Hemo Prova Borborah Girls’ College (Autonomous), Golaghat, hosted its 15th Memorial Speech programme on September 11 at the Rangghar Auditorium to honor its departed teachers and staff.
The event’s chief guest was Dr. Joydeep Baruah, professor of Economics at KK Handiqui State Open University, noted writer, and Director of Surya Kumar Bhuyan Social School. Delivering a memorial lecture on “India’s Demographic Dividend: Issues of Hunger, Malnutrition and Unemployment”, Dr. Baruah presented an in-depth analysis of India’s demographic realities and challenges as a developing nation.

The programme began with floral tributes to the departed family members of the college. The session was chaired by Teachers’ Body president Hemanta Saikia, while Principal Dr. Bulbuli Baruah delivered the inaugural address.
During the event, the sixth edition of the research journal Gyan Biksha was unveiled by Dr. Baruah. Additionally, a commemorative booklet introducing the departed members of the college family was released by Dr. Palash Handique, HoD of Economics.

Among those present were Dr. Devojit Phukan, President of ACTA Golaghat Zone, family members of the departed, professors from various colleges, students, and distinguished guests. The programme was anchored by Aditya Hazarika, Assistant Professor of Assamese, while the vote of thanks was offered by Dr. Rashmi Burhagohain.
