Morigaon Police achieved a major breakthrough in theft-related cases by recovering a large quantity of stolen items during a series of operations carried out across different parts of the district from daytime until late at night on June 19.
According to police, the recovered articles had been stolen from several schools in the district. During the operation, one person allegedly involved in the thefts was arrested.
The accused has been identified as Anarul. Police sources said a number of other suspects believed to be part of the theft network remain absconding. Efforts are underway to track down and apprehend the remaining accused, while the investigation continues.
Speaking at a press conference, Morigaon Additional Superintendent of Police Kankan Kumar Nath briefed the media on the recovery operation and the progress made in the case.
Police officials stated that further raids are being conducted and more arrests are likely in connection with the thefts.
