My Bharat National NSS Awardees call on Governor

Guwahati: My Bharat National NSS Award recipients Dr. Bhuban Chandra Chutiya, Priyanuj Hazarika and Doli Choudhury paid a courtesy visit to Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Lok Bhavan today, following their national recognition for outstanding community service.

The trio received the prestigious My Bharat National NSS Award 2022–23 from the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on October 6, 2025. The honour acknowledges exemplary contributions to social welfare, youth mobilisation and nation-building under the National Service Scheme (NSS).

Congratulating the awardees, Governor Acharya praised their commitment to public service and underscored the transformative role of young citizens in strengthening the country. “Their work stands as a shining example of service, discipline and social responsibility, which will inspire many young people to actively contribute to national development,” he said.

The Governor encouraged the winners to continue championing social initiatives, especially those that bring inclusive growth and greater civic engagement at the grassroots.

Dr. Ranjan Kumar Kakati, Director of Students’ Welfare (DSW), accompanied the awardees and commended their leadership in advancing NSS objectives across Assam.

The visit marked a celebratory moment for the state’s youth volunteers, reinforcing the growing recognition of student-led community initiatives at the national level.
